First a word about the nature of knowledge work...
Calculating the worth of knowledge workers presents a difficult
challenge for modern business. Much of what knowledge workers do can
be invisible or, tangential at best, to the thrust of highly visible
actions that drive results. That means that many important
contributions go unrecognized for their true value, as well as many
under-performing contributions are over-valued.
Because of that circumstance, I favor thorough documentation of my projects in real time. That's difficult to capture during informal conversations (when great ideas often emerge), but I've found that with timely written posts, much can be memorialized accurately. This gives my clients a detailed chronology of their progress based upon my services. That means you'll be able to see clear connections between the work we do together and your success.
Most projects can be accurately estimated for my time and costs required. If we decide to work on an ongoing basis instead of a self-liquidating project basis, then an hourly discounted rate shall be negotiated and you'll be invoiced accordingly.
I charge by the hour and document each task. Then I invoice monthly.
